Non Paying Ebay Bidder Can Leave you negative feedback, I confirmed with eBay.

eBay actually might be making millions from non paying bidders.

Below is a transcript of my chat with an eBay representative and a non paying bidder who left me negative, a buyer refuse to pay and you think you can just file a UPI well think twice, the buyer can still leave you a negative and eBay will not remove it, all the buyer has to do is reply to your UPI and then leave you a negative feedback.

I personally don't think a non paying buyer should be given the power to hurt your business, now that ebay is using the DSR to determine your success on eBay, they should at least protect you from non paying and malicious bidders. But from the conversation below eBay sides with non paying ebay buyers.

After stripping buyers of ability to leave negative, we should at least be protected from non paying bidders. Why is ebay leaving sellers to the mercy of buyers who won't play by the rules when ebay uses such feedback to determine your success on eBay, that is what the new DSR is used for to my knowledge.

You may ask Why again?

Well I can only think of one reason, when you successfully file a UPI ebay refund fees you paid to them but if you chose to not file UPI out of fear the customer can give you negative then eBay get to keep the fees, multiply this by thousands of buyers and this could easily run into millions of dollars, so the question is why would ebay want to lose this millions by preventing this non paying bidders from leaving negatives Unless you speak out,this will not stop.

Ok with the feedback policies and changes we have outlined, We cant immediately remove the negative feedback. But we can consider it for its removal, the feedback department can investigate and send you a response as to what actions they could take or couldn't take.

If they have communicated with you then yes. If you were to open a UPI dispute and end up closing it with no response from a buyer, than that buyer would be completely blocked from leaving feedback.

So what protection does ebay have for seller, because if a buyer doesn't pay me I will just have to let it go and forget the fees already paid to eBay, knowing that if I filed a UPI all they had to do is respond and then slam me with a negative so please can you specifically without mincing words what protection do I have from non paying buyers on ebay

So your best recourse as a seller is to file your disputes and to hold that integrity as a seller as best as you can. Obviously reputation is a huge part of eBay

The bad part is ebay gets to keep the fees because I would rather avoid the negative all together,I honestly think as a seller if eBay allow a non paying buyer who have not even bother to mark the order as payment sent to leave negative it is like we are not getting what we are paying for.

It's best to maintain a high level of professionalism and work to come to the best agreement with the buyer. In some cases buyers can be very unreasonable and sellers have to go a bit out of thier way to appease them. We are working to improve this, But we have left buyers to be entitled to their own opinions because we want to eliminate the bad buying experiences. We removed sellers from being able to leave negative feedback because we saw that more than 75% of sellers were leaving negatives in retaliatory means

I am not asking to leave negative feedback, I am saying a buyer did not pay for an item and can still leave negative. As you can see on that feedback it was a lie because we never sold the buyer what he is claiming.
